PRINCIPAL’S FORUM

A Principals Forum was held at Salima / Senga Bay from April 17th to 19th, 2017 with representatives from 29 institutions. Unlike previous forums where principals from only three Government and four grant-supported technical colleges attended, this STEP supported Principals Forum also hosted representatives from community technical colleges, community skills development centres as well as from religion-affiliated, private, and NGO run institutions. The principals agreed that the benefits of a united principals’ forum are immense and will assist in improving the quality of management as well as training delivery.

To catalyze and expedite the implementation of the agreed resolutions, the principals established an ad hoc steering committee. They further decided that composition of the steering committee should ensure that the three regions are represented, and that all the categories of TEVET institutions, (i.e. national technical colleges, community technical colleges, community skills development centres as well as privately-run colleges) are represented.
