UNEVOC consultant debriefs on plans for TEVET management training

Dr. Robert Palmer, a consultant hired as part of the EU funded Skills and Technical Education Programme, is shown debriefing members of the Department of Technical Education and Training and the STEP team on his assignment.

Dr. Palmer who is working with UNEVOC in Bonn to assist STEP with its efforts to strengthen the quality of management at technical training institutes was in Malawi for nearly two weeks.

During his mission he visited a number of technical training institutes and talked to Principals, trainees, management board members and other administrative personnel to ensure upcoming training would respond to expressed needs.

In the same vein, he liaised with staff at the Malawi Institute of Management on the results of their Training Needs Analysis (TNA) of TEVET management.

Planning for the management training and development of a TEVET management handbook is underway and  Dr. Palmer also visited a number of locations where the training will be delivered later in 2018.
